TLM: Technology Lifecycle Management

Analyzes a device fleet and decides, device by device, what to replace, upgrade, or keep.

The problem

Checking thousands of devices one at a time (too old? worth a RAM or drive upgrade? still secure?) takes hours, days, or even weeks. Then it all has to become a report the client can read.

What it does

Takes a rough export of a device list, decides for each machine whether to replace, upgrade, or keep it, and turns the results into a client-ready report.

The result

Client reports that used to take hours now take minutes. Meetings with clients go over the needed device changes with the evidence ready, so they can get moving on their upgrades.

See it in action. Every fleet below is invented, and these are TLM's real results, saved ahead of time. Pick a fleet to see what the tool recommends for each device.

What I built

TLM is a tool that helps IT teams manage, monitor, and make decisions about a device fleet. It takes a rough export of devices and turns it into a clean spreadsheet that works as a client-friendly report.

It checks whether each device is:

TLM makes the call so the technician doesn’t have to. For example, if a device has less than 16GB of RAM and the RAM is upgradeable, TLM recommends a RAM upgrade to extend its life instead of replacing the whole machine.

How it works

  1. The technician uploads the device fleet spreadsheet with the fields TLM needs.
  2. A Python script analyzes every device and sorts it into a category based on what it needs.
  3. An AI prompt takes those results and writes the client report: what needs to happen, why, and the recommended next steps.
  4. The output is a clean spreadsheet and a report the client can read and act on.
